Campaign Now’s Strategy Drives Momentum for Constitutional Carry Legislation in Louisiana

Hunter Nation's Partnership with Campaign Now Paves the Way for Louisiana to Become the 28th State with Permitless Carry Laws

AUSTIN, TX: Campaign Now, in partnership with Hunter Nation, has successfully driven constitutional carry legislation in Louisiana through a highly targeted multimedia messaging (MMS) campaign.

Campaign Now provided critical strategy, targeting, messaging, and MMS deployment to rally conservative hunters and Second Amendment supporters around Senate Bill 01 and House Bill 12, aimed at making Louisiana a "Constitutional Carry" state. The effort has been chronicled in a detailed case study outlining its success.

Key Highlights:

  • Campaign Reach: Delivered 176,000 MMS texts to conservative hunters and Second Amendment advocates using P2P (peer-to-peer) texting, a legal method widely used by political groups to contact voters directly.

  • Content: The messages included a video from Hunter Nation spokesperson Ted Nugent, urging recipients to contact their state legislators and support constitutional carry.

  • Impact: Over 1,200 voters confirmed they acted by contacting their representatives. Senate sponsors and Governor Jeff Landry personally thanked Hunter Nation and Campaign Now for their efforts in advancing the bill.

Campaign Results:

  • Investment: The campaign cost $17,000, achieving a cost per action of $6.30.

  • Engagement: 135,000 recipients opened the messages, with approximately 2,700 voters taking action by contacting their representatives.

Legislative Outcome:

The Louisiana House passed Senate Bill 1 on February 28, 2024, by a vote of 75-28. This bill, which allows for concealed carry without a permit, is expected to be signed into law by Governor Jeff Landry, positioning Louisiana as the 28th state to implement permitless carry laws.

Campaign Now’s work with Hunter Nation demonstrates the power of strategic messaging and targeted grassroots efforts. By focusing on conservative hunters and Second Amendment advocates, Campaign Now helped Hunter Nation amplify their message at the right moment. This was further enhanced by a video from prominent pro-gun advocate Ted Nugent, which played a pivotal role in the campaign’s success.
